From Ordinary to Extraordinary: Cultivating a Champion Mindset
From Ordinary to Extraordinary:
Cultivating a Champion Mindset
How is it that some talented and gifted people never live up to or learn to maximize their potential? Never feel fulfilled? Never achieve more than what is expected of them? Heather Moyse knows.

As a three-sport National athlete, four-time Olympian, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and armed with a master’s degree in occupational therapy, Heather has learned through her experiences in helping herself and others achieve at the highest levels that the qualities it takes to be successful as an athlete are the same qualities it takes to be successful in any occupation or industry – none of which have anything to do with physical strength, specific skills or stamina.

In this presentation, Heather reveals essential elements needed to succeed – critical elements required for her to reach the top of the Olympic podium and anyone to overcome their obstacles and achieve at the highest level of performance, success, and fulfillment.

When you develop a champion mindset, you will be unstoppable!

Make Your Effort Count- Be Intentional on the Right Things

Are you and your team doing the things that will actually move you forward?

Are  you being intentional…Managing your energy… Aligned with what matters most?

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Effort without intention leads to burnout.
  • Effort with clarity?! That’s where performance lives.
  • Sustainable success comes from focused action, not frantic activity.
  • Motion isn’t the same as momentum – you can be moving constantly and still be stuck in the same place.
  • Hustle without purpose is just noise; intention turns effort into progress.
  • Sometimes subtraction (removing distractions, commitments, or obligations) is the real accelerator.
  • Energy invested in the wrong direction doesn’t compound – alignment matters more than sheer volume.

So how do you tell the difference?!

Ask yourself:

Is what I’m doing moving me closer to the outcome I really care about? Am I spending time… or investing energy? Am I doing this because it’s aligned, or just because it’s expected?

Because “hard work” isn’t always helpful. And “busy” isn’t always better.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do… Is slow down. Zoom out.

And ask: Is this the right kind of effort?!

So today, I want to challenge you to stop measuring your success by how full your schedule is… And start measuring it by how intentional your energy is.

Because effort isn’t just about time or tasks…

Effort is energy. And where your energy goes? Your life goes.

When you focus your effort on what truly matters? That’s when things shift.

That’s when traction happens. That’s when you go from “busy” to breakthrough.

Let’s stop glorifying exhaustion… And start celebrating alignment.

Your energy matters. So make your effort count.

Power of Perspective – Don’t Believe Everything You Think.

Do you want to feel inspired to step outside of your comfort zone, and see what you are truly capable of achieving? Heather Moyse truly believes that we are all capable of more than we give ourselves credit for, and wants to empower people and organizations in achieving that next level of success.

Using penetrating insight and her own personal experiences, Heather explains how a small shift in the way we look at a situation can significantly change our outcomes.

She is a dynamic speaker, and, using her story to discuss the power of perspective, will leave you and your team feeling inspired, motivated and believing in the possibilities of what you can achieve and the difference you can make.

Changes And Challenges: Obstacles Or Opportunities?

You have the dream. You have the drive and the dedication. You are well on your way to reaching your pinnacle of success. When, suddenly, something goes wrong. Something changes. You are faced with challenges that are blocking your view of the finish line.

Problems are inevitable in sport, in business, and in life. But when you are faced with change, do you see it as an obstacle blocking your path to success? Or do you embrace it as a challenge and see it as an opportunity?

Heather challenges her audience to embrace those problems. With powerful insight and personal anecdotes of overcoming her own obstacles on route to the top of the Olympic podium, Heather discusses the qualities it takes to move beyond what seemingly stands in our way to achieving our own successes, whatever the arena.

You will leave this presentation ready to embrace change and overcome obstacles. Let the progress begin!

No Regrets – We Are What We Choose

We are faced with thousands of choices on a daily basis – some of them so seemingly insignificant, however, that we often don’t even realize that we are making them. But it is both the big ones and the small ones that shape the story of our lives, and the direction and extent of our successes.

When it comes to the big ones – those critical moments when your choice could turn your life in a completely different direction or even upside down – we often become paralyzed by the fear of not wanting to make the wrong one. And it is an accumulation of the small ones (which are often deemed insignificant) that sometimes make the biggest difference in achieving our goals.

Heather Moyse delivers a dynamic and engaging presentation, using insight, humour, and personal anecdotes to give perspective on the art of decision-making in pursuing your goals while remaining true to yourself.

Speaker Biography

Heather Moyse knows what it’s like to redefine what’s possible and achieve big goals….

But she also knows what it’s like to live on autopilot, “sell herself short” and live within limits.

She was 27 years old, one year into her master’s degree in occupational therapy, doing what most people do – simply pursuing the next step of life. She was drifting and was living life “within expectations.” But then her perspective and her mindset shifted. And now she knows, first-hand, that so many people simply drift through life, sell themselves short, and never challenge themselves to discover what they are truly capable of.

What happened? Well, after being pursued by Canadian Olympic coaches for years, she decided to face the challenge: could she qualify for Canada’s National Bobsled Team and compete in the next Olympic games…. which were only 5 months later!? It was then when she realized she is motivated by challenges.

And now, four-time Olympian and 2x Olympic gold medalist, Heather Moyse is a multi-sport athlete – having been described as Canada’s best ever all-round female athlete – and is now an author, personal development coach, and highly respected motivational speaker.

Combining her history of personal high performance and having overcome multiple, career-threatening injuries, with her master’s degree in occupational therapy, Heather brings a unique perspective to achieving extraordinary results, and understands not only what it takes to achieve at the highest level, but also what it takes to overcome the roadblocks along the way.

Heather empowers individuals and teams to redefine the possibilities, embrace challenges, and thrive beyond definition, and wrote the book, ‘Redefining Realistic’ to help individuals and organizations take their lives or businesses to the next level.  She challenges audiences: What’s Stopping You?

Redefining Realistic: Shift Your Perspective. Seize Your Potential. Own Your Story

As a motivational speaker, Heather’s impact transcends borders. From boardrooms to classrooms, her words inspire action. She challenges individuals and organizations to redefine their limits, unlock hidden potential, and pursue greatness.

Heather Moyse isn’t just an athlete; she’s a catalyst for change – a catalyst for individuals and organizations to discover what they are truly capable of. Her journey epitomizes resilience, and her message is empowerment. As she propels others toward their aspirations, Heather Moyse continues to redefine what’s possible.
