There are very few companies who don’t want to innovate. In fact, it is probably the most overused term in business today. Speaker Biography

Alfredo C. M. Tan is a people first leader with global experience driving transformation, growth and an innovator focused on making impact. He anchors the power of technology & digital capabilities with cultural transformation to deliver world class consumer experiences, commercial results, increase enterprise value, and drive societal change.

He is currently the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) & Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Canada Goose Holdings Inc, a global luxury retail and fashion brand. Alfredo is responsible for the strategy, implementation and adoption of all consumer-facing digital platforms. He is also responsible for Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, Automation, IT operations, Enterprise Architecture, Digital Media & Marketing, Global Call Centers, and Customer Relationship Management & Insights, Alfredo and his team will also be responsible for Canada Goose’s future Data & AI Strategy to enhance commercial and enterprise performance.

Alfredo was a pioneering leader at Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp), as one of the first 1000 employees globally and helping to transform it into a global media and technology leader. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice-President & Managing Director at Advance powered by Loblaw, the Retail Media division of Loblaw Companies Limited, a Fortune 300 company. Previously, he was the Senior Vice President of Strategy, Data & Digital Products at Rogers Sports & Media. Alfredo was also the first Chief Digital & Innovation Officer at WestJet Airlines. He has held senior roles at Yahoo! Inc., and Sympatico MSN. He began his career as a Systems & Design Engineer in the Enterprise Division of BCE. Alfredo is a citizen of the world, born in the Philippines, raised in Canada. He has global experience – leading teams in Canada, the US, Latin America, and Southeast Asia with academic studies in the U.S, Italy, Canada, and the U.K.

Alfredo is on the Leadership Council at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, on the Board of Directors at Altitude Accelerator, a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a founding executive of the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs Canada Chapter and on the Advisory Board for the McMaster Digital Transformation Research Center and on the Industry Advisory Council at the University of Calgary. He was recognized with the Desmond Parker Outstanding Young Alumni Award from the University of Toronto, has been inducted into the McMaster University Alumni Gallery and is a recipient of the prestigious Arbor Award for his service to the University of Toronto.

He is also an industry professor in the Strategic Management Faculty at McMaster University and a guest lecturer in The Directors College’s Innovation Governance program for Board Directors. Alfredo holds an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Forensic Science & Biology from the University of Toronto, an MBA with a specialization in Information Systems & Technology from McMaster University, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a concentration in Innovation & Technology from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. Alfredo also has a Post-Graduate Diploma (Masters-EQF Level 7) in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the Harvard Business School. Alfredo celebrates his ethnicity and thankful to the fairy tale life Canada has given him and his family. He is a proud father to his 18-month-old daughter Isla Poppy, life partner to Jessica and pet parent to the 5 animals they rescued, Talia, Harry, Lloyd, Hugo, and Jaximus.
