Stephan Maighan delivers keynote presentations that engage his audience, using humour and interactive exercises as hallmark techniques to get participants on the edge of their seats. His style is touching, captivating and compelling with effective strategies to improve your adaptability quotient to create lasting, unparalleled results.

His personal experiences inform his central themes including:

Growing and Adapting:
Stephan, an only child, became the “man of the house” at 7 years old; after his abusive father left and after his mother became paralyzed due to a stroke. ‘When my mother came out from her coma, and during the entire year that followed, she had no idea who I was.’
Dare to attempt the impossible:
At 21 years old, Stephan, who was broke and couldn’t speak English, drove across Canada to move to Vancouver where he became the top door-to-door sales leader in the country.
Take charge of your life:
“It’s not what has happened to you that matters—it’s what you make of it.” Stephan is the author of Devenez maître de votre vie OR Take Charge of Your Life.   His presentations seek to transform the attitude of individuals in order to get them where they really want to be. 

Stephan had very little coping strategies to deal with certain challenges and setbacks: racism, his father’s abandonment, his mother’s stroke and the sense that he didn’t quite have a home. Today, Stephan would say that his reactions to these events were anything but exemplary. Rather than taking a positive outlook, and instead of choosing courage and determination, the way his mother would have, Stephan isolated himself and chose to rebel against authority.

Drawing on his experience, Stephan effectively illustrates the impact that one’s attitude can have on the final outcome when faced with change and uncertainty. He then makes parallels between his professional and personal experiences to help participants remember the importance of being adaptable in the workplace. He reminds participants that challenges at work and at home should not translate into a negative outlook.

As he built his life, he became a successful business leader and entrepreneur. Stephan Maighan is the co-founder of  a company that imports and wholesales baby, kids and wellness products to over 600 retail stores across North-America including Indigo, Best-Buy and Well.ca. He is also the founder of a training and consulting company for leaders, managers, employees and entrepreneurs.

His human approach to leadership and his zero-excuse attitude have attracted international attention and have earned him invitations to meet with leaders and organizations from: Stanley, Costco, Bombardier, Nikon, Nespresso, Price-Waterhouse-Cooper to IBM. His list of current clients also includes several Government agencies, the Canadian Armed Forces and the Department of National Defence.

He also had the honor of sharing his ideas at the ESSEC Business School in Paris, the Military Symposium on Cybersecurity, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others.

Since 2011, he has accepted the role of spokesperson for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and contributes actively to the Foundation’s activities nationwide.

In 2018, her Excellency the Right Honorable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, awarded him the «Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers», an official honour created by the Crown to celebrate and recognize the exceptional volunteer achievements and the wide range of voluntary contributions of some Canadians. This medal honors their passion, dedication and commitment both in Canada and abroad.

As a sought-after keynote speaker, Stephan Maighan is invited to speak around the globe at over 75 events per year. Many have also heard him on 104.9 FM while he was hosting his weekly radio show called “Attitude Matters”.
