Zack Werner always tells it like it is. Werner possesses extensive experience in the music industry as an artist, producer, and entertainment lawyer and manager. His management company includes artist clients such as Esthero, Ali Milner, The Johnstones, and producer James Robertson.

Although Werner has a law degree, his passion has always been music. After graduating from the University of B.C., he moved to Toronto and joined a band called The Ringing and secured a development deal with Capitol Records. He then formed a new group, Thick As Thieves, that went to Los Angeles to seek fortune and fame. They negotiated a distribution deal with BMG and opened for big-name rock acts like Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam. After the band broke up, Werner returned to Toronto and was signed by MCA as a solo artist.

Back in Toronto, Werner put his legal training to use by joining Sanderson Entertainment Law, the pre-eminent entertainment law firm in Canada with clients including international superstars such as Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, and Nelly Furtado. Werner quickly developed a strong reputation for finding and representing new talent. The Philosopher Kings, Ron Sexsmith, Sky, and Sass Jordan were some of his notable clients. He is also credited with presenting showcases that provided first-time exposure to record companies for new artists like K-OS, The Rascals, Sarah Harmer, and Finger 11.

Zack Werner strongly believes people need to be realistic about their dreams, and that true success within your field requires a spark of genius. His varied background in the music business, coupled with his work on Canadian Idol and representing Canada at the World Idol competition, allows him to know what will and what won’t work in order to make it big.
