LifeLine
When
Tracy started hosting CityLine she knew how to "toast bread and change a
light bulb. Fast forward a few years and she’s still no Martha Stewart but she
can confidently pull together a healthy meal, decorate a room and parent two
small children effectively. You can call it the "CityLine effect" but
Tracy has gone from thinking grout was a region in Russia to helping friends
choose paint colours. She can impart her tips and tricks from the show in decor,
parenting, fitness, fashion and food sharing what she’s learned from CityLine’s guest experts!
Hiding The Shame: Dealing with Post-Partum
Depression
In this candid presentation, Tracy discusses her own personal challenges with
postpartum depression. We get a
first-hand account of what postpartum depression feels like, the ways in which
Tracy coped, and her fresh and positive outlook on how we could be dealing with
mental health issues more effectively.
Diversity
Imagine
reaching the peak of your career and then looking around to realize no one
looks like you. As a woman of colour Tracy has seen first-hand the assumptions
that are sometimes made as soon as she walks into a room. How does she deal
with changing people's perceptions or just getting by as a minority? Whether in
university, the workplace or at the playground, Tracy has a few tips for
thriving as a minority and tips for the mainstream as well.
Leadership:
Never Stop Asking Questions
In this
inspiring keynote, Tracy gives us an account of her own personal journey. From a high school student who loved to write
to host of CityTv’s Cityline, Tracy shares the life lessons that guided her along
the way including when to take calculated risks and how to leave your ego at the door.
As the new host of Canada's longest running lifestyle show CityLine, Tracy Moore is known for her laid back style, easy laugh and love of fashion, fitness and all things shoe-related.
Born in Toronto and raised in Richmond Hill, Tracy worked her way up the media ladder to her current position as host of CityLine. Her professionalism, work ethic and engaging personality saw her advance from CTV Newsnet intern to CBC videographer, CBC Canada Now back-up host and CBC Newsworld anchor. Her proudest work at CBC includes a documentary series on the working poor and a local series of reports on gun violence. Her sound reporting and news reading at CBC led to a reporter/anchor position on Toronto1's daily news magazine Toronto Tonight.
In the fall of 2005, Tracy joined Toronto's number one morning show, City TV's Breakfast Television as its live reporter. Within months she was backing up the show's lead news anchor in addition to covering live breaking news events.
What followed was her most significant life change to date; the birth of her son Sidney in April 2008. Returning after maternity leave to a position like hosting CityLine was an incredible way to re-enter the work force!
Her work is not limited to her role on-air. Tracy has made a name for herself as a grassroots volunteer by initiating a speakers' series in Toronto high schools, talking to students about non-violence and media literacy. She counts as one of her top priorities boosting the self-esteem of young girls. To this end, she emcees the ‘Girls On The Run' event every year.
Most recently, Tracy decided CityLine should do more than just sponsor the Weekend To End Breast Cancer - they should walk it. And they did. Sixty kilometers in two days!
