Nations Run According to the Principles of Organized Crime
Murder Without Borders
For the first time, Gould tells the full life stories of seven murdered journalists, revealing their deeply personal motivations and the social and political forces they were up against in Latin America, the Pacific Rim, South Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
How To Tell If Someone Is Lying To You
Many lies are told for social reasons, but when they are told for financial profit or to conceal incompetence or criminality, employers, investors and co-workers can be seriously hurt. Whether you are in finance or law enforcement, journalism or academia, knowing how to tell when someone is lying to you in an interview is the single most important skill you can have.
Nations Run According to the Principles of Organized Crime

Domestic and Overseas Informant Handling
This talk is a "must-hear" for anyone engaged in informant handling, from law enforcement officers to military interrogators to private investigators.
The Search for Steven Wong - Canada's Most Audacious Case of Life Insurance Fraud
In a must-attend speech for people connected to the insurance industry, Gould shows how he was able to penetrate Wong’s overseas realm and prove his death a fraud. In addition, Gould discusses international organized crime’s connection to a wide range of domestic insurance frauds, from staged fires to staged accidents, offering invaluable techniques of investigation for these less spectacular but no less costly frauds.
How Overseas Criminals View the Canadian Justice System
Gould relates how Canada sends the wrong message to the international underworld and how that message has been interpreted as an invitation to come to Canada because it is a great place to set up a criminal enterprise. Both general audiences and law enforcement gatherings will be fascinated by Gould’s revelations and the exotic criminal realms he investigated during his research.
A passionate and gifted speaker, Terry Gould has enthralled audiences on topics as varied as the murder of journalists with impunity, investigative reporting, law enforcement, and forensic interviewing skills. His most recent book, Murder Without Borders: Dying for the Story in the World's Most Dangerous Places, won the 2009 Tara Singh Hayer Award for Bravery in Journalism, sponsored by the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression and named after a murdered journalist. The book is the first to recount the inner lives of local journalists assassinated in the five most murderous countries for reporters. During four years of research, Gould visited the victims' hometowns to interview their colleagues, families, and--in some cases--their suspected killers, revealing the journalists' deeply personal motivations for risking certain death in the face of unbridled corruption and violence. Terry has lived under police protection himself for his reporting, and his work has earned 49 awards and honours from numerous foundations, including the Canadian Association of Journalists, National Magazine Awards, Foundation for the Advancement of Canadian Letters, Jack Webster Foundation, Western Magazine Awards, and the Canada Council for the Arts. Tributes to Terry's work include being chosen to deliver the keynote talks at many classified law enforcement conferences, including the 2009 Conference of Senior RCMP Officers, the Criminal Intelligence Service of Alberta, the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario, and the RCMP Officer of the Year Awards. He served for 10 years as Contributing Editor at Saturday Night magazine and is the author four books, including the critically acclaimed Paper Fan: The Hunt for Triad Gangster Steven Wong, the international bestseller The Lifestyle and his most recent book, Murder Without Borders.

Client Testimonials:
"The conference was a huge success and Terry's portion certainly added to it. He did an awesome job and after reading the 300 evaluations forms, not one person has a negative comment. The audience Terry had are a tough crowd. Law enforcement budgets often don't allow the luxury of bringing in keynote speakers but in this case, it was definitely worth the money"
