The native of Corner Brook, Nfld., is not one to wait and let life happen to him. Wiltshire followed this philosophy when he was 22 years old and got a job investigating opportunities for people who have barriers to employment. From this simple idea, he helped grow Avalon Employment into a successful community-based not-for-profit business. In recognition of his achievements, he was honoured as one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business magazine in 1999.

Wiltshire frequently travels across North America speaking to audiences about the relations between social and economic policies, and the changing demographics of employment and the labour force.
