Abaholi (Zulu for "Leaders") - Leadership & Development
We hand the reins of ‘conducting’ over to selected leaders of your team. Using unfamiliar tools, they must demonstrate a new ability to motivate and orchestrate in order to strike the right note with the group. A real-time debrief which includes a participative discussion with a trained Drum Cafe moderator, concludes the session.
Kakhulu (Zulu for "Very big") - Extended Programs (90min - 3 hrs)
Kakhulu is the ultimate learning experience! Separate groups are formed, each taught a different traditional drumming and vocal pattern. The groups then perform their music to the other groups. It’s presentation skills, in real-time. Finally, all 3 groups unite to deliver an amazing symphony of synchronized sound.

Our interactive, hands-on programs are designed for general session entertainment, team building and experiential learning, relating music and rhythm, metaphorically to the dynamics of working together in an organization. The Drum Cafe brings power, passion and energy to any kick off, closing or break out or evening entertainment at your conference. Everyone gets to play a drum. What the Drum Cafe can do for you. Time is tight: On a shortened agenda, you need something that delivers a powerful experience in an hour or less that stays with them through the conference and after they’ve gone home. The Drum Cafe has a number of teams across the USA and Canada, that travel to each event with hundreds and sometimes thousands of drums in tow – one for each audience participant – We perform events for anywhere between 5 and 5000 participants! We customize the program for you Through a customized and carefully facilitated interactive program, success is built in a stepwise fashion. First we break down barriers, level the playing field, with an opening of non-verbal communication. Second, we align everyone to a common theme, vision or mission through the bass note, the foundation of the music. Third, we explore the diversity, in each and everyone’s unique and individual contribution through the tone note, the communication note. We close off with a fun high energy percussion set, embracing diversity handing out fun percussive instruments, in an all out celebration of self expression and leadership. Through the universal language of music and rhythm, your organization will discover that the whole is greater than the sum of all its individual parts.
