What's Happening in Canadian Politics
Don Martin writes about federal politics from Ottawa four times weekly, dividing his time between the National Post and The Calgary Herald. This split shift ensures his various editors never know when, where or what he's writing, which is just the way Martin likes it during golf season.
He has a uniquely western irreverence to all government institutions and more than 20 years of covering elected officials in Calgary and Edmonton before relocating to the nation's capital in 2000. Martin has just published a biography on Liberal MP Belinda Stronach, and in 2002 authored a bestseller called King Ralph, an unofficial biography on the life and times of Ralph Klein, the premier of Alberta.
