With both the CFL and NFL considered, Damon Allen leads the All-Time Pro football passing chart, becoming North America’s top quarterback in passing, besting records of others like John Elway, Warren Moon and Doug Flutie.
Along the way, he has led four different teams to Grey Cup champion status and is one of the greatest CFL quarterbacks of all time. He has earned the titles of CFL’s Most Outstanding Player of the Year, CFL All-Star, and Grey Cup MVP.
Damon Allen knows about teamwork, leadership, and dealing with change - as the most prolific passer in professional football history and quarterback for 5 different teams - including the BC Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Hamilton Tiger Cats, Ottawa Rough Riders and the Toronto Argonauts.
He was acquired by the Argo’s to give the team a veteran leader at the pivot position. The year they won the Grey Cup with Allen as their quarterback, the Argonauts also realized 10-year attendance highs during the regular-season.
Ageless and legendary, Allen uses the wisdom of experience and the power of passion as the leader of the team to work together for success. Midway through the 2004 season, the 41-year-old Allen suffered a leg fracture and missed the next six weeks of action. With an incredible resiliency, passion and dedication, Allen returned and led the Argos to Grey Cup victory over BC. For the second time in his remarkable career, Allen was named Grey Cup MVP.
With a quiet confidence, sense of fun and storytelling, Allen brings to audiences his unique perspective on leadership and teamwork. He might even throw one of his infamous passes into the crowd, so be ready!
A gifted all-around athlete, Allen is also an avid reader and draws inspiration from the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jackie Robinson. He’s active in the local community throughout the year and including in support of the Argo’s Anti-Bullying and Stop the Violence campaigns.
