Success Using the Power and Speed of Social Media
Stuff White People Like: A Definitive Guide to the Unique Taste of Million
Christian Lander knows what white people like. He started writing an online satirical blog called, Stuff White People Like, just for fun and it turned him into a social media superstar almost overnight.
Born and raised in Toronto, Lander had no idea so many people would care about his blog when he first launched the website in early February 2008. Some of the "stuff" he claims white people like, include: Barack Obama, Wes Anderson movies, non-profit organizations, having two last names, apologies, expensive sandwiches, modern furniture, and the Sunday New York Times. At first, the blog only received a few hundred hits, but then Internet traffic slowly started increasing and within a few weeks he was averaging more than 300,000 hits daily.
His celebrity status was confirmed when his book, Stuff White People Like: A Definitive Guide to the Unique Taste of Millions, made several best-sellers' lists within a week. That led to a cross-country book tour for Lander, who now lives in Culver City, Calif., with his wife, who is an advertising executive and food photographer.
Prior to becoming one of the hottest bloggers on the planet, Lander spent eight years in the ivory tower of academia in Toronto before moving to Los Angeles to work in the interactive industry. In the past, he has also worked as a freelance journalist and a sports reporter.
Christian Lander's intelligent and witty writing truly reflects his personality. His humourous presentation will inspire creative minds and show them how to achieve success using the power and speed of social media.
His presentation will also challenge you to question your own ideas about stereotypes, have a good laugh about yourself, and consider the impact of class, race, diversity, inclusion. All the things that make us different, but also so much the same....
