Become Psychologically Green: Tap into your instinctual tools for success

July 31, 2009

Psychologist Dr. Hendrie Weisinger believes following your instincts can lead to business success. The New York Times best-selling author’s latest book, The Genius of Instinct: Reclaim Mother Nature’s Tools for Enhancing our Health, Happiness, Family and Work, makes the case that humans are hardwired for success – we just need to trust our instincts.

Weisinger describes Oprah Winfrey as being “psychologically green,” someone who is in tune with her instincts, getting back to basics, and getting back to human nature. He says Winfrey applies the genius of her instinct to these key areas:

  • Shelter Seeking: Assists in creating empowering environments
  • Care Soliciting: Acknowledging personal vulnerabilities in order to strengthen them
  • Care Giving: Developing the future
  • Cooperation: Working together to be more productive
  • Curiosity: Helps keep you ahead of the pack

  • People are more successful than animals because we have more instincts – not less. And when we are ruled by reasons rather than instinct, that typically spells disaster. Weisinger can show you how to use your instinctual tools to thrive and solve everyday problems in business.
